Another shamefully example, of Obama’s treatment of veterans

For those who continue to think that Obama supports healthcare for our elderly, look what he is doing to our veterans:

From 1947 until 2000 America did not recognize the sacrifices of the Alaska Territorial Guard (ATG) member’s service to America. In 2001, the Defense Appropriations Act attempted to correct this injustice. It required the Secretary of Defense to issue certificates of discharge to members of the Alaska Territorial Guard and it required the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to make veterans benefits available to these individuals. That policy was reversed effective February 1, 2009, leading to a reduction in retirement benefits to the 26 Alaska Territorial Guard members.

In April of this year, the Alaska State Legislature passed Senate Bill 89, continuing the retirement payments to the 26 surviving Alaska Territorial Guard members who so bravely defended our state and country during World War II. Alaskans were hopeful that the new Administration would make the correction in the law and continue payments to these brave Alaska Native elders. Since passing this legislation two of the 26 individuals have passed away, leaving 24 ATG members who would receive these benefits.

“The Federal Government has spent hundreds of billions of dollars bailing out various agencies and organizations across this country. I find it extremely appalling the President and his Administration won’t continue the payments for these Territorial Guard members” said Dahlstrom, The House’s Joint Armed Services Committee Co-Chair. “We in the Legislature made it a priority to cover the reduced benefit until the federal government came to their senses by doing the right thing. SB 89 was a bridge, and I applaud the efforts of Senators Murkowski and Begich for following through and gaining support to re-authorize it in the current defense spending bill. The Obama Administration’s position lacks compassion for those elders who voluntarily joined the ATG out of their love for Alaska and duty to protect our great state at a time when the federal government didn’t offer those protections to our territory. The decision is a slap in the face to those survivors, and I hope Alaskans share my distaste for the Administration’s policy choice. We should be honoring those who served, not pinching our pennies in terms of 24 modest pension benefits.”

Obama’s theocracy has arrived

It’s not about them, it’s about their actions.

This morning, on Meet the Press, former President Slick Willie (William Jefferson Clinton), lamented the “vast wing conspiracy” that plagued his presidency and now is trying to bring down Obama. Slick Willie and other liberals don’t seem to understand that mainstream America is put off by the actions, of Presidents, not the individuals themselves. We went after Slick Willie, because of his immoral behavior (philandering in the White House and then lying about it). We want Obama to fail, because he is trying to take our country down the road to Socialism. It’s that simple.

“The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.” ~ Thomas Jefferson

“Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again.”

The difference between Conservatives and Liberals

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary provides the following definitions:

Conservative: one who adheres to traditional methods or views.

Liberal: one who is open-minded or not strict in the observance of orthodox traditional or established forms or ways.

At first glance, there seems to be little difference, between the two. In reality, the two couldn’t be more different.

I spent the last several days working, on obtaining certification, to teach two NRA courses. The courses, Personal Protection Inside the Home and Refuse To Be A Victim®, where offered in Houston and Bryan, Texas respectively. Other than me, none the other participants attended both classes. It is important that I point that out, because, although the attendees were different, a common virtue, was not. That common virtue was self-reliance. Not only were each of the 20 or so participants self-reliance, they were there to gain the knowledge, skills and attitude, to teach others, to be self-reliant.

As I drove home Monday evening, it occurred that I may have stumbled on better definitions, for Conservative and Liberal, in America today:

Conservative: Self-Reliant
Liberal: Dependent (on government)

Looking for an excuse, to declare martial law?

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she worries that angry rhetoric over President Barack Obama’s effort to remake the nation’s health care system could incite violence”.

I just read this headline and continue to be amazed, at this woman’s ignorant bliss. She still doesn’t get it.

1. The “angry rhetoric”, to which she refers, is not only about healthcare, it is about the direction our country is headed.
2. The “angry rhetoric”, to which she refers, is not only about race, it is about the direction our country is headed.
3. The “angry rhetoric”, to which she refers, is not only about taxes, it is about the direction our country is headed.

Last weekend, Washington, DC saw one of the largest gatherings, in our Capital’s history. There were no arrests and we clean up after ourselves. If anyone is going to incite violence, it will not be us; it will be the hired thugs from organizations like ACORN and SEIU.

It appears that the Left is looking for another excuse to silence us.

We the People

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video can say it all. In an earlier post, I addressed the issue of race and how the mainstream media uses it to attack Obama’s opponents.
Please view this video. Starting at minute 3:25, you will meet an American; I had the honor of standing beside, in front of the Alamo, on September 3, 2009. We were not the only black faces in the crowd then either.

A Response to David Axelrod

On Sunday, September 13, 2009, David Axelrod appeared on CBS’s Face the Nation. Responding to a question about the gathering of patriots, in Washington, the previous day, he said: “I don’t think it’s indicative of the nation’s mood. You know, I don’t think we ought to be distracted by that. My message to them is, they’re wrong.”

I have a quote for Axelrod:

“First they ignore you, then they mock you, then they fight you, then you win.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi
